A moment in history: Marc Chagall, the Belarussian, always had a soft spot for France. In 1923 he moved to Paris and, after some travelling, chose our region where he settled down for 30 years.
In 1966 he had a house built in St Paul. While it was being built he stayed at the le Hameau hotel several times, each time in a different room. Later he sold his house to go to the United States. An article by John Anderson in the Chicago Times reminds us that Chagall regularly returned to St Paul and stayed in our hotel, as if it were a tradition. He loved our site which reminded him of the happy moments spent in this oasis of beauty.
After he died in St Paul on 28th March 1985, his family regularly travelled there for several years.
An different address in Saint-Paul de Vence and a charming 3 star hotel, Le Hameau boasts 17 rooms and suites. Both comfortable and dainty, they are all decorated using Provence themes. Surrounded by orchards, at the foot of this very beautiful village, le Hameau has a breathtaking view over the ramparts, the Baie des Anges, and the sea.
It is a charming location.
The overflow pool, surrounded by greenery, seems to water the Nice hinterland. Nested in the luxuriant gardens, this exceptional area is a place for relaxation, surrounded by flower gardens and a magnificent orangery.
The discrete service and welcome guarantee you a very comfortable stay, as does the well-being area which includes a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath, and a sauna.
Spend a few days on vacation in this calm location, away from the bustle of the tourists, while staying in one of the most beautiful villages in France. Take advantage of the opportunity to visit the French Riviera.
